Sister taxon: Hydentomys crybelophus
Type specimen: IVPP V10305, a tooth. Its type locality is Shipigou, which is in an Eocene/Oligocene terrestrial horizon in the Hetaoyuan Formation of China.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution: found only at Shipigou
