Sister taxon: Kritosaurus horneri

Type specimen: AMNH 5799, a partial skull (An incomplete skull consisting of partial predentary, nearly complete dentaries, partial left and nearly complete right surangular, right splenial, angular and ). Its type locality is west of Chaco Canyon, Ojo Alamo (AMNH), which is in a Campanian terrestrial shale/sandstone in the Kirtland Formation of New Mexico.
