Sister taxon: Plagiorophus paraboliceps
Type specimen: PIN 2867/17, a partial skull (Skull fragment). Its type locality is Starokoltaevo IV (Locality 11), which is in an Anisian deltaic sandstone in the Donguz Formation of the Russian Federation.
Ecology: amphibious carnivore
Distribution: found only at Starokoltaevo IV (Locality 11)
