Type specimen: GSM 37538, a valve (dorsal valve internal mould). Its type locality is Exposure in Lower Cresswell farmyard, 2.5 km south of St. Clears, which is in a Rawtheyan marine mudstone in the Slade and Redhill Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
