Belongs to Pleuroacanthites according to J. Guex 1995
Sister taxa: Pleuroacanthites biformis, Pleuroacanthites charlottensis, Pleuroacanthites psilomorphum, Parapsiloceras calliphyllum, Parapsiloceras polycyclus
Type specimen: Its type locality is Level Z-17, Reno Draw section 1, which is in a Liasicus marine limestone in the Sunrise Formation of Nevada
Ecology: fast-moving nektonic carnivore
Distribution:
• Jurassic of United States (7: Alaska, Nevada collections)
Total: 7 collections each including a single occurrence
