Type specimens:

  • Rotodactylus cursorius: UCMP 37794, a footprint. Its type locality is Meteor Crater Quarry area, tracksites, which is in a Spathian wet floodplain mudstone in the Moenkopi Formation of Arizona.
  • Rotodactylus mckeei: UCMP 38026, a footprint. Its type locality is UCMP V4602, Hurricane, which is in an Aegean/Bithynian terrestrial horizon in the Moenkopi Formation of Utah.
