Belongs to Staurocephalus according to T. Kobayashi and T. Hamada 1985
Sister taxa: Staurocephalus clavifrons, Staurocephalus murchisoni, Staurocephalus pilafrons
Type specimen: KGS 3631, a cephalon/head. Its type locality is new trilobite collection, boulders found between Gomi and Ishiyama villages, which is in a Ludlow reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Fukata Formation of Japan.
Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal carnivore
Distribution: found only at new trilobite collection, boulders found between Gomi and Ishiyama villages
