Type specimen: UCMP 34564, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is UCMP 1037, Hipparion Point, which is in a Miocene terrestrial siliciclastic in the Pinole Tuff Formation of California.

Ecology: amphibious carnivore

Distribution: found only at UCMP 1037, Hipparion Point
