Type specimen: AMP 2, a partial skull. Its type locality is Morawan (Middle Hard Shale Member), which is in a Chattian basinal (siliceous) shale in the Morawan Formation of Japan.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore-suspension feeder

Distribution: found only at Morawan (Middle Hard Shale Member)
