Sister taxa: Phenacolemur archus, Phenacolemur fortior, Phenacolemur praecox, Phenacolemur simonsi
Type specimen: MNHN AV 5849, a tooth. Its type locality is UCMP V6168, Avenay quarry, which is in a Ypresian terrestrial horizon in the Lignites de Soissonais Formation of France.
Ecology: arboreal omnivore
Distribution: found only at UCMP V6168, Avenay quarry
