Type specimen: UFAC 6460, a partial skull (fragment of skull with cheek teeth with right P4–M1 and left P4–M2.). Its type locality is Niteroi, which is in a Tortonian fluvial-lacustrine claystone/conglomerate in the Solimões Formation of Brazil.

Ecology: ground dwelling frugivore-folivore
