Type specimen: MUSM 3580, a partial skeleton (mandibles and teeth; thoracic, lumbar (at least 5), sacral, and caudal (at least 12) vertebrae; ribs, sternal elements (including manubrium and xiphisternum), s). Its type locality is Playa Media Luna, Lutetian, which is in a Lutetian marine horizon in the Paracas Formation of Peru.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Playa Media Luna, Lutetian
