Type specimen: ZIN 410p, a skeleton (partly disarticulated skeleton in part and counterpart). Its type locality is Penzenskoe, which is in a Miocene/Miocene marine horizon in the Kurasi Formation of the Russian Federation.

Ecology: nektonic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Penzenskoe
