Sister taxa: Semuridia jacksoni, Semuridia quadrata
Type specimen: GSM Bj 4433. Its type locality is Stowell Park borehole (A. obtusum Zone, A. obtusum Subzone, 1512-1548ft), which is in a Sinemurian carbonate shale in the Lower Lias Formation of the United Kingdom.
