Type specimen: AMNH 13005, a partial skeleton (an incomplete skull with lower jaws and parts of skeleton). Its type locality is AMNH Rosebud 21, which is in a Harrisonian terrestrial horizon in the Harrison Formation of South Dakota.

Ecology: ground dwelling grazer

Distribution:

• Harrisonian of United States (1: South Dakota collection)

• Arikareean of United States (1: South Dakota)
