Sister taxa: Lutites alius, Lutites lyriformis, Lutites plicatus, Lutites profundus, Lutites stepanovi

Type specimen: MfN MB.C.29991, a shell. Its type locality is Baghuk Mountain C section, -2.44 m, which is in a Changhsingian carbonate lime mudstone in the Hambast Formation of Iran.

Ecology: nektonic carnivore
