Sister taxa: Carpodaptes aulacodon, Carpodaptes cygneus, Carpodaptes hobackensis, Carpodaptes jepseni, Carpodaptes rosei, Carpodaptes stonleyi

Type specimen: Amer. Mus. No. 33854, a mandible (right lower jaw with P4-M3). Its type locality is Scarritt Quarry, which is in a Tiffanian terrestrial horizon in the Melville Formation of Montana.

Ecology: arboreal herbivore

Distribution:

• Paleocene of Canada (11: Alberta collections), United States (7: Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming)

Total: 18 collections each including a single occurrence
