Sister taxon: Elpidophorus elegans
Type specimen: P.U. No. 14201, a mandible (fragmentary left mandible with P3-M2). Its type locality is Silberling Quarry, which is in a Torrejonian terrestrial horizon in the "Fort Union" (= Lebo) Formation of Montana.
Ecology: arboreal folivore
Distribution:
• Paleocene of Canada (2: Alberta collections), United States (2: Montana, Wyoming)
Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
