Sister taxa: Invertrypa kelusiana, Invertrypa minuta, Spinatrypa (Invertrypa) talis

Type specimen: USNM 168867. Its type locality is USNM 17413. 1870-1875 feet upsection to NE of section base, Lone Mountain, which is in an Eifelian marine packstone in the Denay Limestone Formation of Nevada.
