Sister taxa: Mediochoerus johnsoni, Mediochoerus mohavensis

Type specimen: F:AM 43172, a partial skull (Skull (lacking zygomatic arch and orbital region) with I1-I2 alv. and I3-M3). Its type locality is New Surface Quarry, which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial horizon in the Olcott Formation of Nebraska.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution: found only at New Surface Quarry
