Type specimens:

  • Picrodus silberlingi: Carnegie Mus. no 1670, a mandible (incomplete right dentary with p4, m1). Its type locality is Silberling Quarry, which is in a Torrejonian terrestrial horizon in the "Fort Union" (= Lebo) Formation of Montana.
  • Megopterna minuta: Carnegie Mus. no 1675, a mandible (left lower jaw with M2 and part of talonid of M1).

Ecology: arboreal herbivore

Distribution:

• Paleocene of Canada (1: Alberta collection), United States (10: Montana, Wyoming)

Total: 11 collections each including a single occurrence
