Type specimens:

  • Ramoceros osborni: AMNH 9476, a skeleton
  • Ramoceros (Paramoceros) howardae: F:AM 31271, a partial skull ( of cranium with horns (points missing, burrs heavy) and M1-M3). Its type locality is Dutch Creek Quarry No. 1, which is in a Barstovian terrestrial horizon in the Valentine Formation of Nebraska.
  • Ramoceros (Paramoceros) kansanus: F:AM 31510, a partial skeleton (Left horn with small posterior point, anterior points missing, no burr; and ?associated astragalus and phalanx.). Its type locality is M. F. Frake's Ranch, which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in Kansas.
  • Ramoceros hitchcockensis:
