Type specimens:
- Microsyops angustidens: A.M.N.H. No. 15073, a mandible (fragmentary left mandible with P3-M3 and fragment of right mandible with P4-M2). Its type locality is Microsyops angustidens type locality, which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the Willwood Formation of Wyoming.
- Cynodontomys alfi: U.C.M.P. No. 44777, a maxilla (fragmentary right maxilla with M1-3). Its type locality is Timberlake Quarry, which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the Wasatch Formation of Colorado.
Ecology: arboreal omnivore
Distribution:
• Eocene of United States (42: Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota, Wyoming collections)
Total: 42 collections each including a single occurrence
