Sister taxa: Ogmodontomys pipecreekensis, Ogmodontomys poaphagus

Type specimen: UMMP 28166, a partial skull (Part of palatal region with M1 preserved). Its type locality is Saw Rock Canyon (Lower), which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in the Rexroad Formation of Kansas.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution:

• Blancan of United States (2: California, Kansas collections)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
