Type specimen: Its type locality is Oreolagus nebrascensis Type Locality, which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial horizon in the Runningwater Formation of Nebraska
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution:
• Miocene of Canada (1: Saskatchewan collection), United States (21: Nebraska, New Mexico, Wyoming)
Total: 22 collections each including a single occurrence
