Type specimen: INAH 6201 D.P., an osteoderm (22 osteoderms probably from the posterior buckler of a single individual). Its type locality is Valsequillo Reservoir, which is in a Pleistocene terrestrial horizon in Mexico.

Ecology: ground dwelling omnivore
