Type specimens:
- Stegoceras validum: NMC 515, a skull. Its type locality is Stegoceras type, Berry Creek east, GSC (NMC), which is in a Campanian terrestrial horizon in the Dinosaur Park Formation of Canada.
- Ornatotholus browni: AMNH 5450, a skull. Its type locality is 1 mile below Steveville (75 ft level) [AMNH], which is in a Campanian terrestrial horizon in the Dinosaur Park Formation of Canada.
