Belongs to Scymnosaurus according to R. Broom 1913
Sister taxa: Scymnosaurus major, Scymnosaurus watsoni
Type specimen: SAM, a partial skull (Partial snout). Its type locality is "Near Beaufort West", which is in a Capitanian terrestrial siliciclastic in South Africa.

Total: 3 collections each including a single occurrence
