Type specimen: USNM 181528, a partial skull (skull lacking rostrum and ear bones). Its type locality is Slip Point Lighthouse, which is in an Aquitanian marine shale/sandstone in the Clallam Formation of Washington.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Slip Point Lighthouse
