Type specimens:
- Odaxosaurus piger: USNM 10687, a mandible (posterior portion of a right dentary containing six teeth and space for three others)
- Odaxosaurus obliquus: USNM 10751 (median portion of right dentary with four teeth). Its type locality is Lance Creek area (non-specific), which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the Lance Formation of Wyoming.
