Sister taxon: Doratodon ibericus
Type specimen: IPUW 2349/57, a mandible (almost complete mandible with teeth). Its type locality is Muthmannsdorf, which is in a Campanian estuary/bay coal/sandstone in the Grünbach Formation of Austria.
