Type specimen: USNM 6728, a shell (a carapace and plastron). Its type locality is Niobrara County, United States Geological Survey, which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the Lance Formation of Wyoming.

Ecology: aquatic carnivore

Distribution: found only at Niobrara County, United States Geological Survey
