Sister taxa: Orospira bigranosa, Orospira conica, Orospira depressa, Orospira elegantula, Orospira gainesvillensis

Type specimen: Its type locality is M. S. M. 57.1. Base of hill on north side of Moreau River, east side of US 63, which is in a Jeffersonian carbonate dolomite in the Rich Fountain Formation of Missouri.
