Type specimens:

  • Tinodon lepidus: YPM 11845, a mandible (partial left mandible with broken M1 and M3). Its type locality is Quarry 9, Como Bluff (YPM), which is in a Kimmeridgian/Tithonian fluvial-lacustrine mudstone/sandstone in the Morrison Formation of Wyoming.
  • Menacodon rarus: USNM 2131, a mandible (partial left mandible with C, P1-3, and M1-3). Its type locality is Quarry 9, Como Bluff (YPM), which is in a Kimmeridgian/Tithonian fluvial-lacustrine mudstone/sandstone in the Morrison Formation of Wyoming.

Ecology: scansorial insectivore

Distribution: found only at Quarry 9, Como Bluff (YPM)
