  • Hoplochelys crassa: AMNH 6091, a partial shell (two costals, four peripherals, partial hyoplastron, partial hypoplastron). Its type locality is Chaco CaƱon neighborhood, which is in a Puercan/Torrejonian terrestrial horizon in the Nacimiento Formation of New Mexico.
  • Hoplochelys bicarinata: USNM 6549, a partial shell.
  • Hoplochelys elongata: USNM 8553, a partial shell.
  • Hoplochelys laqueata: USNM 8527, a partial shell.
  • Hoplochelys paludosa: AMNH 6079, an osteoderm (single peripheral bone). Its type locality is Head of the Escavada Canyon, which is in a Torrejonian terrestrial horizon in New Mexico.
  • Hoplochelys saliens: AMNH 1200, a shell. Its type locality is Head of the Escavada Canyon, which is in a Torrejonian terrestrial horizon in New Mexico.
