Sister taxa: Pegmavalvula delicata, Pegmavalvula triassica
Type specimen: AMNH 28918, a valve (Left valve). Its type locality is AMNH512, Guadalupe Pass, Guadalupe Mountains, which is in a Roadian slope limestone in the Cherry Canyon Formation of Texas.
Ecology: stationary epifaunal suspension feeder
Distribution:
• Permian of United States (12: Texas collections), Venezuela (3)
