Type specimen: USNM 400666, a shell. Its type locality is USNM712c, Tularosa Valley, Orogrande, which is in an Artinskian shallow subtidal limestone in the Hueco Formation of New Mexico.

Distribution: found only at USNM712c, Tularosa Valley, Orogrande
