Type specimen: AMNH FM 28542, a maxilla (part of left maxilla with P2-M1 and roots of P1). Its type locality is Cañadón Hondo, Kibenikhoria Faunal Zone, which is in a Riochican alluvial fan sandstone in the Las Flores Formation of Argentina.
