Polydolopiformes was named by Goin and Candela (1996) [erroneously cited as in press by Case et al. 2004]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Polydolopimorphia by Case et al. (2004), Goin et al. (2010), Chornogubsky and Goin (2015).
