Cheirocrinidae was named by Jaekel (1899).
It was assigned to Glyptocystitida by Beaver et al. (1967); to Glyptocystitida by Regnéll (1945), Sumrall and Schumacher (2002) and Broadhead and Sumrall (2003); and to Glyptocystitoida by Paul and Rozhnov (2016), Paul et al. (2019) and Liu et al. (2024).
It was assigned to Glyptocystitida by Beaver et al. (1967); to Glyptocystitida by Regnéll (1945), Sumrall and Schumacher (2002) and Broadhead and Sumrall (2003); and to Glyptocystitoida by Paul and Rozhnov (2016), Paul et al. (2019) and Liu et al. (2024).
