Taxonomy
Amphistrophia whittardi was named by Cocks (1967). Its type specimen is OUM C13527, a valve (ventral valve), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Eoamphistrophia whittardi by Rubel (2011), Cocks (2019).
