Taxonomy
Xenocephalites grantmackiei was named by Westermann and Hudson (1991). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Auckland University C1422, a partial shell. Its type locality is Te Whakapatiki Stream R17/f566, which is in a Temaikan marine sandstone in New Zealand.
