Anaklinoceras was named by Stephenson (1941) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp-l K Camp-u].

It was assigned to Nostoceratidae by Kennedy and Cobban (1994), Kennedy et al. (2000), Kennedy et al. (2000); and to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002).
