Palaeictops robustus

Taxonomy
Palaeictops robustus was named by Velazco and Novacek (2016). Its type specimen is CM 11954, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Leland Bench Wash, which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Uinta Formation of Utah.

P. M. Velazco and M. J. Novacek 2016Teeth (badly worn) less transverse than in Prodiacodon or Myrmecoboides. Single sagittal crest unlike Leptictis but like Palaeictops altimontis and P. bicuspis ( gs. 2A, 13A, 16A; Novacek, 1986: g. 2). Signi cantly larger than all other North American leptictid species (see table 1; cf. Novacek, 1977: table 2).
