Taxonomy
Rhinobatos hakelensis was named by Cappetta (1980). Its type specimen is MNHN 1946-17-272A & B and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Haqel (MNHN collection), which is in a Cenomanian carbonate carbonate in Lebanon.
