Taxonomy
Kennardia reticulata was named by Laurie (1986). It is not extant. Its type specimen is CPC23728 (sclerite). Its type locality is NT 600. Todd River, 50 km south, 20 km East of Alice Springs, which is in an Atdabanian/Botomian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Todd River Dolomite Formation of Australia.

J. R. Laurie 1986Sclerites up to 6 or 7 mm high, most being about 2 to 4 mm high. Form A sclerites subrectangular in section near aperture, subcircular in section near apex, with plane of symmetry passing through middle of broadest face. Concentric ribbing strongly developed, with interspaces as much as 2.5 times as wide as ribs. On both broad faces the ribbing arches strongly towards apex by as much as one-quarter sclerite height. Face towards which apex curves has a weakly developed median carina.

Form B sclerites rectangular in section near aperture, ovate to subrectangular in section near apex. Concentric ribbing strongly developed, with interspaces less than twice as wide as ribs. Toward aperture in larger specimens, ribs become much more closely spaced, such that interspaces may be only one third as wide as ribs. On both broad faces the ribbing arches towards apex by as much as o'ne-tenth sclerite height. On both narrow faces the fibbing arches very slightly towards apex. There are two sclerite types; BI, in which the torsion is very slight and the apex more acute; BII in which the torsion is strong.

Form C sclerites subtriangular in section with one edge rounded and opposite face slightly to moderately concave. Curvature absent to strong. Concentric ornament strongly developed, with interspaces about same width as ribs. Ribs on concave face arch towards apex by as much as one-sixth sclerite height. There are two sclerite types; CI, which is high, lacking or with slight curvature and lacking torsion; CII, which is lower, has slight torsion and strong curvature such that the apex overhangs concave face. Ornament of all sclerites is similar with the ribs being about 0.04 mm to 0.06 mm wide, tending to become narrower and more closely spaced towards the aperture. The micro-ornament of all sclerites is similar in size, each pit of the reticulate pattern being about 0.005 mm in diameter
with the intervening ridges being about half that in width.
