Taxonomy

Mesuropetala was named by Handlirsch (1906).

It was assigned to Protolindeniina by Handlirsch (1906); to Petaluridae by Ponomarenko (1985), Carpenter (1992); and to Mesuropetalidae by Nel et al. (1998), Bechly et al. (2001).

Synonyms

Morbaeschna was named by Needham (1907).

It was synonymized subjectively with Mesuropetala by Bechly et al. (2001).

It was assigned to Aeschninae by Needham (1907); to Aeshnidae by Carpenter (1992); and to Gomphaeschnini by Nel et al. (1994).
