Taxonomy
Aristophyllum planotabulatum was named by Zhen (1994). It is not extant. Its type locality is Fanning River area, Grypophyllum-Chostophyllum association, which is in an Eifelian/Givetian shallow subtidal limestone/sandstone in the Burdekin Formation of Australia.
