Allenypterus montanus
Taxonomy
Allenypterus montanus was named by Melton (1969). Its type specimen is MV 2555, a skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is MV 6801, Surprise Quarry, Bear Gulch, which is in an Arnsbergian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Heath Formation of Montana.
