Taxonomy
Eoptychopterina demissa was named by Lukashevich et al. (2001). Its type specimen is MNEMG 1998.16, a wing (complete isolated wing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Durlston Bay, Bed DB175, Swanage (MNEMG collection), which is in a Berriasian lagoonal siliciclastic in the Durlston Formation of the United Kingdom.
